I feel guilty for not reflecting... I don't do it because I avoid introspection in case I find out something I don't like... Ever heard "Whole Lot of Nothing" by The Methadones? I think the 2nd verse in particular is about me...
I only read this quickly because I don't have much time, but I can identify. Being a Christian socialist can be tough, because we get it from both sides. I originally left the SWP over this, although I rejoined because the party has changed since 9-11 and is now striving to be the left party which practices religious tolerance.

To be frank, I've never really got the impression that my friends think of me as the sort of person to have relationships, never mind problems with them. To put it differently, my friends by and large seem to think that I'm one of those people who was 'just meant' more…
The cycle of readings used by the various Christian denominations is something I should really make an effort to fins out more about. I *think* that the Catholics and the Methodists have the same three-yearly cycle, which sometimes - but not always - coincides with that used by the Church of England.
I think if you did discuss this with your friends, they'd be quite surprised and want to help you get over it. They would say they've never perceived any barrier.
If you really can't do this, at least discuss it with God. I'm sure you do:)
